NRRL under the guidance and supervision of NRRC will be looking for skilled volunteers to help partially clear the Bangalow to Yelgun section of the line for a degradation study of the tracks, ballast, culverts and drainage systems. This will enable an accurate costing for the repair of the railway to enable the return of trains. The bridges and any tracks at height will be accessed by drone & the footage will be independently assessed. Please be aware that to access the corridor we need to comply with various Work & Safety Legislation requirements, that will require you to complete some on-line safety courses which will cost you in total $75. This is not applicable to Drivers or anyone not accessing the corridor.
If you would like to proceed & offer up your help and use of your equipment please complete this form.
I'm interested in volunteering using my own equipment.
What equipment do you have and can bring?
With the exception of a drone operator, your hand tools must have appropriate personal protection equipment.
Any other equipment?
The teams of people working in the corridor will be leaving their cars at one point but walking the corridor to another point. We need drivers to help ferry those workers back to their cars. Can you assist?
